Systems Analyst Lead

Freeport, PA

A Systems Analyst Lead will be responsible for maintenance and security of standard operating systems and server platforms.  The Analyst role is responsible for owning the overall design, implementation of technology footprints and how well those systems fit the business need of a client.  As a leader, the Systems Analyst Lead will provide daily guidance to the systems team, mentor the team members in their group and develop team talent.  The Analyst role is considered the top of the escalation path internally and will be responsible for owning problems until they are resolved.    

This is a full-time position, that can be located at any Involta facility (Boise, Idaho, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Duluth, Minnesota, Tucson, Arizona, Cleveland/Akron/Youngstown, Ohio or Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leadership and point of escalation of the Systems team
  • Install, configure, support and maintain internal and/or external server hardware, operating systems and network.
  • Develops and maintains systems, applications, security, and network configurations
  • Troubleshoots performance issues, analyzes and resolves problems associated with server and storage hardware
  • Tests and evaluates servers and desktop systems to eliminate problems and make improvements
  • Installs, configures and maintains server hardware, operating systems and storage devices
  • Provide efficient and reliable system and storage allocation
  • Defines backup, recovery and archival procedures
  • Monitors email and web servers, filtering, and storage resources
  • Creates user accounts and maintains security levels on applications, storage folders and databases
  • Develops and implements business continuity practices
  • Generates capacity planning reports and analysis on system and storage usage
  • Performs work that is complex and varied in nature
  • Develops integrated solutions to resolve complex technical and business issues
  • Adheres to service level agreements with end users regarding system, storage and backup availability
  • Allocates capacity to end users based upon established change requests
  • Maintain incident response and testing processes for modification to system and storage appliances
  • Develop routines for end users to facilitate best practices for system, storage and backup administration
  • Recommends hardware, software applications, upgrades and patches
  • Provides technical support and guidance to users
  • Creates tests and maintains disaster recovery plans
  • Request appropriate information from the client to understand the urgency and resolve the problem
  • Resolve customer issues in a timely manner that generates the company's brand loyalty

Education and Experience

  • BA or BS Degree - Computer Information Management or related discipline preferred
  • 8 or more years of systems experience in a client facing environment
  • 5 or more years of team leadership experience
  • Experience working in a fast-paced client support environment
  • Strong analytical and problem analysis skills
  • Background with Microsoft Products
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Windows Servers, Active Directory, and VMware
  • Understanding of system, storage architecture design techniques, theories and practices
  • Process documentation creation skills
  • Microsoft certification preferred
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework a plus

Technical Knowledge

  • Proficient in Cloud Computing services, specifically AWS and Microsoft Azure
  • Microsoft Windows Server Platforms
  • Microsoft Exchange / Office 365 Administration
  • Advanced understanding of Virtualization Concepts and Platforms – VMWare & Hyper-V
  • Remote Desktop Technologies - Microsoft Terminal Server & Citrix
  • Active Directory - User Account Creation / Group Policy Management
  • Strong Background with Linux Operating Systems
  • Understanding of LAN and WAN configuration and management
  • Familiarity with End-Point Management Systems

  • Effective leadership and the ability to coach, mentor and motivate a staff of business and technical professionals
  • Ability to identify key issues in a situation and to think creatively and strategically in facing internal and external challenges
  • Effective oral and written communications and the ability to communicate with people on all levels of the organization
  • Willingness to grow/improve current skill as well as gain additional knowledge and skills
  • Must be able to interact with staff and customers in a professional environment

Working Conditions

  • Occasional night and weekend work is required
  • On-Call rotation
