With Major Move, Involta Doubles Staff, Gains Ohio Stronghold

Cedar Rapids, Iowa: Involta, a national leader in cloud, managed IT and data center services, announced a definitive agreement to acquire substantially all of the assets of Data Recovery Services, LLC (DRS), a managed-services and IT consulting firm operating in Ohio and Pennsylvania. With minimal overlap in service offerings and territory, the agreement leverages the capacities and strengths of both companies to better serve mid-market and enterprise-class clients.

"DRS and Involta share many important values and approaches to our businesses," said Bruce Lehrman, Involta CEO. "Both DRS and Involta are built on enterprise-grade technologies, offer superior customer service and have tremendous rapport with our clients. Most important, both DRS and Involta clients deeply trust us as strategic IT partners. With their integrity and expertise, DRS employees are a perfect fit for the Involta brand promise of Superior Facilities, Operational Excellence and People Who Deliver. We are excited to welcome them to the Involta team."

"This move positions Involta as a powerhouse in the Ohio market," stated Carl Gordulic, DRS President and COO. Acquired assets include more than 5,500 fiber miles in Ohio and western Pennsylvania, two Youngstown-based data centers owned and operated by DRS, an operations management agreement for the WēConnect Community Data Center near Columbus, and data center space in Pittsburgh currently leased by DRS.

Involta operates eight data centers in Arizona, Idaho, Iowa, Ohio and Minnesota. While headquartered in Cedar Rapids, the Company has a substantial and growing presence in Ohio, with a world-class, concurrently maintainable data center in Akron.

With the asset agreement, Involta doubles in size, with more than half of the nearly 200 employees residing in Ohio. The addition of DRS’ sizeable technical team will give Involta unparalleled depth of expertise and capacity.

Service to current DRS clients will remain intact and without disruption. "This move is truly about growth," stated Mike Meloy, DRS CEO. "Involta’s superior facilities and enterprise focus, combined with DRS’ technical services and mid-market focus, will combine to bring to market a remarkable depth of services and capacities. DRS clients will benefit from additional facilities, including connectivity to Involta’s enterprise data center in Akron, while Involta and its clients will benefit from enhanced territory reach and technical services capabilities."

Mike Meloy and Carl Gordulic will both maintain ownership interest and executive roles within the Involta corporate structure. Meloy will take on the role of Eastern Regional Vice President, General Manager, and Gordulic will take on the role of Vice President of Integrations.

The transaction is expected to close as soon as the required consents and approvals are obtained. For additional information about Involta, visit www.involta.com.
