Edge to Innovation: Data Center Expansion Celebration

10/06/2020

The week of September 21st was filled with excitement from our customers, partners, communities and friends as we celebrated the expansion of two of our data centers. Throughout the week, we hosted virtual data center tours in our Cleveland and Pittsburgh markets and a virtual happy hour featuring keynote speaker, Dean Nelson, Founder and Chairman of Infrastructure Masons and current CEO of Virtual Power Systems. As we showcased our “Edge to Innovation” during these events, we also highlighted our dedication to our brand promise of Superior Infrastructure and Services, Operational Excellence and People Who Deliver. We’ve captured the highlights from our weeklong celebration on our events page. Feel free to take a look and, in the meantime, explore how our brand promise is carried out in our recent data center expansions.

Superior Infrastructure and Services

As a technology company, we are constantly evolving to meet the needs of our customers and the expansion of our Cleveland and Pittsburgh data centers prove that. Furthermore, as we pair strategic consulting with the unique ability to leverage owned colocation facilities like Cleveland, Pittsburgh and other facilities around the country, we are able to deliver highly secure and reliable solutions every day. And this is what “Edge to Innovation” is truly about. It’s about our own transformation from a single market, single data center company to a Hybrid IT provider throughout the country and how that has translated into us being able to walk alongside our customers as they go through their own IT transformation journey. It’s about helping them navigate the roadmap whether infrastructure, facilities, public or private cloud environments, consulting or security solutions. Technology changes on a daily basis and we want to make sure we can help our customers “Get There” today, in the next decade, and beyond by continuing to show how far we’ve come and demonstrate how far we’ll go.

Operational Excellence

Our data center expansions were built using best-in-class technology and include environmentally conscious features. We chose smart data center designs that provide stability and longevity by utilizing things such as lithium-ion batteries in our UPS units.

Both data centers feature our fifth generation build outs, are SOC II externally assessed and our Independence facility is certified Uptime Institute® Tier III. The recent expansions doubled the footprint of both our Cleveland and Pittsburgh data centers. These facilities are part of our owned ION Network, stretching 12,000+ fiber miles, giving clients access to a full suite of business connectivity and internet services – and are diversely-connected to all of our facilities in Ohio.

As a provider of more than just data center services, we are able to keep pace with changing trends in the marketplace. Two such trends that are at the forefront of our expansion are an increased need for companies to eliminate real estate and the desire for providers who cover the full breadth of solutions. As part of our mission to help our customers “Get There” we strive to find solutions that help you solve for the future.

People Who Deliver

“Our clients continuously tell us that we under promise and over deliver. That makes me very proud to be leading this company,” said Jim Buie, President, Involta. Business transformation takes the right people, processes and technology, and we are proud that we can help you “Get There.” We can provide you with the power to transform your technology and the freedom to focus on your core business. Expect us to continue to evolve to meet the needs of your business. No question this notion includes the edge.

We believe that optimal performance begins with partnership and we have the fortune of having very strong, trusting relationships with our customers and our partners. We stay true to our brand promise and deliver on those promises every day. With our data center expansions, we will continue to prove that we can maintain these close relationships and help you “Get There” no matter where you’re at in your IT journey.

“We are really looking forward to our continued long-term partnership with Involta. It’s something that we take a lot of stake in, in ensuring we have very good partnerships, not just vendor relationships, but a true partnership with an organization. So, thank you for that,” said Dave Fiser, Vice President and CIO of The MetroHealth System, one of the featured speakers during the Edge to Innovation events.

As our leaders continue to move Involta forward, their vision now manifests around the edge and how Involta will be part of the connectivity, compute and consulting aspects of delivering edge solutions to our customers. In many respects, we are no strangers to the edge. We’ve been operating in edge markets for more than a decade. Our teams continue to evaluate what investment and technology we need to make to ensure we stay ahead and adapt to the needs of our customer.
