1. Involta Joins Alert Logic Partner Connect Program
Early in 2020, Involta announced its collaboration with Alert Logic, a leader in managed detection and response (MDR) services, as part of their Partner Connect Program. The Partner Connect Program empowers Involta to add market-leading security solutions that merge seamlessly with our existing offerings across any IT environment; cloud, on-premises, or hybrid.
2. Involta Recognized on CRN’s 2020 MSP500 List
Involta was named to the CRN 2020 Managed Service Provider (MSP) 500 list in the Managed Security 100 category. This popular list identifies North American solution providers that deliver operational efficiencies, IT system improvements, and a higher rate of return on investments for their customers.
The Involta team worked swiftly to connect with customers at the beginning of the global pandemic to ensure data center facilities maintained full operations without interruption. We are committed to keeping our client, customers, and operations safe from harm.
Involta launched a new global security monitoring and response solution through a partnership with Alert Logic, the industry’s first managed detection and response provider. The partnership delivers AWS Security Reviews to assess organizations’ threat vulnerabilities. This service combines Alert Logic’s award-winning managed detection and response solution with Involta’s team of technical experts to provide global 24/7/365 protection across an organization’s private and public IT infrastructure.
5. Involta Boise, Idaho Data Centers Withstand 6.5 Magnitude Earthquake Unharmed
Involta made the headlines, but this time it was due to Mother Nature. While managing during a pandemic, a 6.5 magnitude earthquake struck about 72 miles northeast of Boise, Idaho, and 83 miles from Involta’s data centers. All employees and both Involta data center facilities were spared from harm.
6. Involta and MyndYou Partner to Launch Innovative Employee Wellness Program
Involta launched an employee health screening and general wellness program using MyndYou’s virtual health coach and AI-based passive voice analytics. The program, which is part of Involta’s business continuity plan, will help Involta employees monitor and detect changes in their health and, subsequently, their ability to work. The goal of the program is to ensure the overall health of Involta’s employees and maintain mission-critical applications for Involta clients during this battle with COVID-19 and beyond.
7. Involta Names James D. Buie as President
Involta names James D. Buie as President in May to drive Involta’s strategic company growth. Buie built a unique reputation for scaling businesses and delivering industry-leading results. His distinguished 30-year track record within technology spans across leading companies such as ViaWest, Comcast, and AT&T.
8. Involta’s Technology Experts Launch New Site to Accelerate Digital Transformations
As the company continues to evolve, the debut of its ultra-modern site signaled Involta’s commitment to its own transformation as they strive to meet the growing needs of their client base. At the forefront of this comprehensive site is Involta’s strategic consulting practice, a holistic, top-down approach enabling businesses to plan for a robust future so they can focus on their core business.
9. Involta to Power the Star-Studded Zach Johnson Foundation Virtual Gala
Involta was the official technology sponsor of the Zach Johnson Foundation Virtual Gala to support the 10th anniversary of its program, Kids on Course. The mission of Kids on Course is to close the opportunity gap and place students on a path to post-secondary education. Founded by PGA TOUR golfer and Cedar Rapids native, Zach Johnson, the virtual event was powered remotely from an Involta data center by our digital transformation team. More than 3,000 attendees tuned in to the live stream across the country.
10. Involta Launches Operation Linking Loved Ones
Involta announced its effort to power the connections between residents of senior care facilities and their loved ones in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic with its Operation Linking Loved Ones. Involta enabled virtual visits with family members who can’t enter elder care facilities for the health and safety of residents in three Involta markets: Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Tucson, Arizona, and Youngstown, Ohio. Involta provides connections virtually, by donating the tablets and infrastructure needed for video chats. In addition, Involta trains staff and residents on how to use virtual meeting platforms.
11. Involta Launches New Healthcare Technology Suite: Involta SecureHealth
In 2020, Involta partnered with Alert Logic to bring healthcare technology to market. Involta SecureHealthSM is a suite of managed IT services designed to support healthcare organizations, safeguard data, and drive better patient outcomes.
12. Involta’s Michelle Bates Recognized by Technology Association of Iowa as CIO of the Year
Michelle Bates, Chief Innovation Officer at Involta, was recently named CIO of the Year by the Technology Association of Iowa (TAI). This prestigious award recognizes leaders in technology, business, education, and government for their most impactful innovations of the year. Bates won this award, in part, because of her development of and dedication to her innovation framework philosophy. Her philosophy aligns and enables people and processes to help Involta clients achieve their business outcomes through strategic IT solutions and service delivery.
13. Involta Achieves Advanced Consulting Partner Status in the AWS Partner Network
This year Involta elevated its relationship with Amazon Web Services (AWS) by being named an Advanced Consulting Partner in the AWS Partner Network (APN) and increasing a hybrid architecture. This partnership enables Involta to directly pass the benefits of working with AWS on to clients across the company’s ecosystem.
14. Involta Supports Recovery of Iowa Businesses in the Wake of a Powerful Derecho Storm
A Derecho storm tore through the Midwest this summer, and Cedar Rapids, home to Involta’s headquarters, sustained some of the most intense storm damage, taking the brunt of the 140 mph winds. An estimated 90% of structures in Cedar Rapids were damaged by the storm, and more than 1,000 homes were destroyed. After the storm, Involta’s Cedar Rapids and Marion employees worked tirelessly to stabilize businesses’ work environments from the physical to the virtual. Meanwhile, Involtans from our Duluth, Minnesota, and Youngstown, Ohio, offices travelled to Cedar Rapids to support and aid the work of our headquarters’ employees. Involta’s support of the community went beyond our clients to our neighbors, as well. Our employees volunteered for organizations, including the Iowa Derecho Relief Center in Cedar Rapids, where they provided both physical and emotional support.

For the 8th year, Involta was included in the 2020 Inc. 5000 list of the fastest growing companies. The strategic expansions were driven by a surge in customer demand for edge data centers and critical infrastructure in the tech, manufacturing, healthcare, and transportation sectors.

Involta announced it has achieved VMware Cloud Verified status. Involta, now a Principal-level partner in cloud services within VMware Partner Connect, has earned the highest partner level. The Cloud Verified designation indicates that a provider offers the complete VMware-based software-defined data center infrastructure delivered as a service that enables customers to achieve unmatched levels of consistency, performance, and interoperability for both traditional and containerized enterprise applications.
19. Involta Launches Managed Account Solution For AWS To Accelerate Enterprise Cloud Migration
Involta launched its Managed Account solution for AWS to optimize cloud services across AWS for its clients. By leveraging the power of AWS and Involta’s cloud expertise, Managed Account for AWS streamlines AWS workloads while managing compliance, backup, and more to ensure fast, flexible access to the cloud. Managed Account for AWS also combines collaborative consulting with managed services to strategically manage clients’ AWS environments from a holistic standpoint. This unique service provides enterprise customers the scalability needed to meet their business and digital transformation goals while reducing security and compliance risks.
Involta announced its successful completion of its eighth annual holiday fundraising campaign through its Involta Cares initiative. This year the company selected the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, a non-profit created at the behest of the U.S. Marine Corps that has supported Toys for Tots since 1991. The initial fundraising goal was set at $2,500.00 and, Involta is excited to raise funds exceeding the goal at $6,129.31.
Involta is extremely proud and encouraged by our growth in 2020, and will continue to focus on the path ahead.
