Involta in Review: Top 20 Headlines in 2021

12/30/2021

2021 has been a whirlwind of activity for Involta. As we approach the New Year, we’re taking time to reflect on our volunteer efforts, awards and recognitions, product launches, and team member updates. We’re extremely proud of all our company and employee accomplishments over the course of 2021 as the global pandemic still rages on along with the largest cybersecurity event to date.

Here are the Top 20 Involta Headlines for 2021.

Involta Cares

At Involta, we believe volunteering is an essential part of our company culture. It’s important to help the communities in which we live and work. Who doesn’t need a helping hand every once in awhile? This year Involta Cares was able to give over 200 hours of volunteer time to organizations in need. Here are a few volunteer activities we took part in:

1. Best Christmas Ever

Throughout 2021 Involta Cares has taken part in many community activities in all our locations. This December, our team took part in the Best Christmas Ever movement. Our Duluth Volunteer Ambassador for Involta Cares, Andrea Mistelske, took the lead on this endeavor and showed the world how Involta was able to pay it forward this year.

2. Involta Celebrates Earth Day With Planting Forward to Replace Trees Lost in the 2020 Derecho Storms

Involta took part in Planting Forward, a project that replaces trees damaged or destroyed in the August 2020 derecho storm that swept through Iowa and parts of the Midwest. The initiative, brought to life by Linn County businesses and the Monarch Research Group, a non-profit organization, replants native Iowa trees and educates the community about their importance.

3. Helping Our Planet and Our Communities

Involta continued to focus on our city’s environment. Employees from HQ are volunteering through our Involta Cares initiative to clean up the community. They spent half of their workday cleaning up Jacolyn Park in Cedar Rapids. It was one of the worst hit parks from the derecho. Not only was our team happy to clean our environment, but they were also thrilled to do it on Earth Day. What an excellent way to celebrate our planet on its special day!

Our Duluth, Minnesota team helped our planet in May with Duluth’s Clean Yer Creek event. It is an annual community volunteer event, dedicated to the removal of garbage, debris, and illegally dumped trash that makes its way into the Duluth watershed and, eventually, flows into Lake Superior. They gathered as much trash as possible from the Keene and Chester creeks.

4. Cedar Rapids Civil Rights Commision Feminine Hygiene Drive

Our team at HQ participated in the Cedar Rapids Civil Rights Commission’s Feminine Hygiene Drive as a part of Women’s History Month. The Catherine McAuley Center (CMC) received donations from the drive to benefit their Women’s Services program. While the CMC’s programs serve distinct populations, they are united by a common purpose of promoting the well-being and dignity of individuals in need. The CMC’s Women’s Services program provides shelter, intensive case management, and skill-building opportunities to help women who have experienced trauma achieve and maintain stable housing, relationships, and finances.
