Meet Lucas Mistelske, Vice President of Client Experience
Lucas Mistelske joined Involta in 2012 with experience in overseeing data center operations and strategic accounts. Today, he is VP of Client Experience and uses his operational and infrastructure background to expand Involta’s communication channel and collaborative efforts with clients and valued partners. Job title aside, let’s take a closer look at who Lucas is as a person, both at the office and at home.
What led you to this career?
That’s simple – the people. I was initially drawn in by the caliber of the talent and entrepreneurial mindset. I’m driven to create and cultivate relationships. Working to help my team achieve their personal and professional goals gets me motivated to achieve more for Involta and our clients. The more people and the potential to affect people in a positive way draws me in. I derive tremendous joy from helping others be successful – it brings me chills!
Who has influenced you the most when it comes to how you approach your work?
Fifteen years ago, I took a piece of advice from a colleague who was the CFO at a manufacturing company I used to work for. I used to work all hours of the day – I never stopped. He suggested I pick a point or a project and try to stop for the day. My work will still be there tomorrow – it will always go on.
What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute your success to, and why?
By nature, I’m an empathetic person. I have the ability to listen and to meet people where they are at. It’s that trait that has attributed to my success. Another trait I want to mention is that I can be forgetful if I’m not focused. I’ve learned I must be laser-focused on day-to-day activities and to live in the moment. It’s kind of like Ground Hog Day. I wake up each morning without any baggage from the day before and go to work!
What’s the one thing most people don’t know about you?
I placed third in the National Pedal Tractor Pull in 1992.
If you could become an expert at anything, what would you be?
Honestly, chemistry. I really enjoy chemical compounds and how to make stuff out of molecular structures – it’s truly amazing!
What’s your favorite hobby?
My favorite hobby is anything that has to do with being outdoors, but to narrow it down, it would have to be camping. Any flavor of camping too – car, camper, back country, winter, and backpacking. Basically, anything in the camping category. I also like the gear that goes along with it.
A big thank you to Lucas for completing this Involta Spotlight interview. We enjoyed learning more about you and I’m sure our clients will too.
