First came steam. Then electricity and automated machinery. Fast forward to today, and manufacturers have a new industrial revolution on their hands. This time, it comes in the form of big data, advanced robotics, artificial intelligence and machine learning.
As technology continues to advance at a rapid clip, secure, scalable and flexible IT solutions are a must for manufacturing businesses. Amid this ever-evolving landscape, IT teams in the manufacturing industry are faced with the growing challenge of managing ever-increasing complex IT infrastructure, tighter uptime requirements, an increasing number of audits and security breach concerns. They must keep pace with a barrage of new technologies around logistics, supply chain connectivity and IoT applications — just to name a few.
So how are we helping manufacturers operate more efficiently to drive productivity and business growth? Let’s take a look at how we continue to remain at the forefront of manufacturing technology.
- Growing Our Talented Team: John Kehoe, Executive Vice President, Manufacturing
Last month, we welcomed John Kehoe to the Involta executive leadership team. John brings 25 years of global experience across the digital infrastructure, manufacturing, industrial and technology industries. In his new role, John will expand Involta’s mission-critical IT service offerings designed with manufacturers in mind, helping them further improve productivity and optimize supply chain efficiency.“The Involta team is highly recognized for its exceptional technology solutions, leading-edge security services and innovative spirit, especially when it comes to serving the manufacturing industry,” said John. “I look forward to leveraging my diverse experience and industry background to further drive Involta’s manufacturing practice forward and meet the rapidly evolving technology demands of the organizations that keep the world running.”
- Achieving High Scores: Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification
In addition to growing our leadership team, Involta completed the Department of Defense’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Framework. Involta achieved an impressive Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS) score of 109/110. Used by the Department of Defense as a major part of the rigorous CMMC evaluation process, the SPRS score assesses the potential risk of a government-hired supplier or vendor. It is a standard compliance benchmark for all government contractors and is based on value points related to cybersecurity practices, such as access control, identification, authentication and incident response. Our strong SPRS NIST score confirms we will serve as a low-risk technology partner for government contracts, particularly those in manufacturing. - Staying In Tune: We Keep Our Finger on the Pulse of the Industry
To remain successful in an increasingly competitive marketplace, manufacturing organizations can’t just maintain the status quo. More than ever, to stand out and stay relevant, they must go above and beyond to keep up to date on the latest industry trends, tools and technologies. That’s why we do everything we can to help industry leaders make effective IT decisions that lead to secure and streamlined operations at every level. The Involta Manufacturing Advisory Board brings top manufacturing executives together to discuss IT trends, address challenges and identify opportunities to continue digital transformation throughout the industry.
What’s more, insights from the Board enable us to better understand the current needs of manufacturers to develop essential IT solutions, such as Compliant Cloud℠, a customized IT solution that maintains IT infrastructure within high-security, redundant data centers. The solution helps resolve operational and facility concerns, allowing manufacturers to focus on their core business and integrating fourth-industrial revolution technologies. Additionally, it empowers manufacturers to increase the reliability of IT infrastructure, streamline regulatory compliance, improve productivity with automated provisioning and lower technology cost of ownership.
In addition, we offer consulting services that help manufacturers digitally transform their IT infrastructure, define an effective go-forward strategy and bring their IT vision to life. Services include assessments of critical IT systems, process and performance analysis, cost and capabilities optimization, analysis of potential security risks, reviews of IT staff and processes to gauge skill sets relative to assigned roles, and much more.
Our team will also be sponsoring and participating in key manufacturing industry events this fall:
- Semiconductor Summit NEO, Sept. 21 – Elyria, Ohio
Involta’s own John Kehoe, EVP of Manufacturing, will share insights related to the recent semiconductor supply chain opportunities emerging across Northeast Ohio and their impact on the manufacturing and tech industries.
- Manufacturing First Expo and Conference, Oct. 25 – Green Bay, Wisconsin
At this manufacturing-focused event, Involta’s John Kehoe will join a noteworthy breakout session to discuss the latest trends, technologies and best practices in the industry.
It’s an exciting time for manufacturers as the fourth industrial revolution continues to take hold, and we are here for it. We are proud to continue to elevate our manufacturing focus by expanding our leadership team, achieving industry certifications and staying in tune with current industry trends.
